Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. The negativity-spreading Imposter, peering over your shoulder to give you unsolicited advice. “Don’t post that, it’s not good enough!” “No idea why you have been asked to do that. There must have been a mistake?” “You don’t really deserve that, you’re not good enough for it.” Who is that awfully toxic person I hear you ask? Oh, that’s just me. If this was another person, however, I’d be telling them exactly where to go. So why would I allow myself to speak to myself this way?

Could Metallic be the new Sequin of 2018? We have seen the sequin trend roll in year by year ready for Christmas and New Year. This year seems a little more refined than usual. Sequins are still across the shops, but this year they are trimmed down into little smooth shapes, glued flat to the fabric. Finally, we can now wear sequins without the worry of them scratching any bare skin in sight! Although, there's a new party fabric that has my attention. Metallic foil, in the most beautiful jewel tones you could imagine. There's something quite fun in dressing like a fabulous Quality Street chocolate!

Despite being born in 1990, I have always had a soft spot for everything 80s. The music, the movies, the fashion - I just love it. Over the past couple of years, I've noticed a heavy revamp of these things coming back around. Especially with the likes of Stranger Things (the love is real), remakes like IT and 80s inspired movie soundtracks hitting our screens. We saw oversized denim jackets and mom jeans making the rounds through shops over and over again. As great as this was, I still found myself pining over the AMAZING wardrobe of Pretty in Pink's Duckie Dale. Honestly, this is more than likely where my forever-love for bolo neck ties came from.

Since almost forever, I have found myself gravitating towards backpacks. Especially those slouchy relaxed-feel ones. After the last few months of exhausting my smaller side bags, I wanted something more practical. Of course, I wanted a bag that could fit almost everything in but the kitchen sink. Ridiculously functional, whilst somehow remaining minimal and pretty. I wanted to be able to fit in my camera, and maybe a cardigan and brolly. Seems as it's practically freezing now! Plus, to ease my backpack paranoia (it can't just be me, right?), I wanted an inner zip pocket and a sensible closure. Usually, I'd add silver hardware to the checklist too, but I'm verging into impossible dreamland territory at this point.

So the prolonged heatwave is finally coming to an end and my favourite season is almost in reach! I've only just started dressing Summer-appropriate, but I don't even care as I love Autumn! It truly is my favourite time of year. I love all of the tones outside and the fact that Halloween is on its way. The pumpkin and cinnamon flavoured everything, absolutely everywhere. I'm just completely excited to wear all those deep shades of green again. Honestly, I'm already eyeing up new scarfs to add to my collection, the ones that are the length of your entire body. Sweater weather is upon us and I just can't wait!

I know I shouldn't moan, but I was nowhere near ready for this year's heatwave! I was left having no clue what to wear, having breakdowns, flinging various items of clothing across the room every single morning. Walking to and back from work, and sitting in an office for 8 hours a day. The heat was unreal, and I did not own any suitable clothing. Was it really time to say goodbye to my 40 denier black tights? A comfort zone that I have safely stayed within the lines of for so so long.

Trends may quickly come and go, but I'm LOVING this colour popping animal print trend! Especially leopard print in strong, bold primary colours, I can't get enough of it right now. If you follow me on Instagram, you're probably aware that 90% of my wardrobe is made up of various shades of yellow recently. So naturally, when I saw this cropped Sacred Hawk gem in the ASOS sale, it was immediately in and out of my basket and on its way (thank the shopping lords for Premier Delivery right!?). I picked up a size S which converts to a UK size 10-12, true to size!
