After moving to Birmingham City Centre, I became pretty lazy when it came to shopping. I walk through the centre daily, so the thought of shopping there never really appealed to me. Online shopping became my go-to, yet so did the returns counter. So much so, I actually became a regular and made friends with a lovely lady at a Doddle stand. Safe to say, online shopping hadn't always been successful and shopping for myself was losing its enjoyment. So when intu Merry Hill invited me along on a shopping trip, the process of actually planning a day out to shop and treat myself felt exciting!

Since almost forever, I have found myself gravitating towards backpacks. Especially those slouchy relaxed-feel ones. After the last few months of exhausting my smaller side bags, I wanted something more practical. Of course, I wanted a bag that could fit almost everything in but the kitchen sink. Ridiculously functional, whilst somehow remaining minimal and pretty. I wanted to be able to fit in my camera, and maybe a cardigan and brolly. Seems as it's practically freezing now! Plus, to ease my backpack paranoia (it can't just be me, right?), I wanted an inner zip pocket and a sensible closure. Usually, I'd add silver hardware to the checklist too, but I'm verging into impossible dreamland territory at this point.

So the prolonged heatwave is finally coming to an end and my favourite season is almost in reach! I've only just started dressing Summer-appropriate, but I don't even care as I love Autumn! It truly is my favourite time of year. I love all of the tones outside and the fact that Halloween is on its way. The pumpkin and cinnamon flavoured everything, absolutely everywhere. I'm just completely excited to wear all those deep shades of green again. Honestly, I'm already eyeing up new scarfs to add to my collection, the ones that are the length of your entire body. Sweater weather is upon us and I just can't wait!

I know I shouldn't moan, but I was nowhere near ready for this year's heatwave! I was left having no clue what to wear, having breakdowns, flinging various items of clothing across the room every single morning. Walking to and back from work, and sitting in an office for 8 hours a day. The heat was unreal, and I did not own any suitable clothing. Was it really time to say goodbye to my 40 denier black tights? A comfort zone that I have safely stayed within the lines of for so so long.
